When it comes to lash and brow treatments, we have to take care to make sure that the treatment we give you doesn’t leave you with tears in your eyes.
A Different Kind Of Eye Test
Your eyes are the window to your soul, so they say, and in the salons we offer a range of treatments to enhance this glorious feature of your fabulous face. But, we have to take care to make sure that the treatment we give you doesn’t leave you with tears in your eyes.
Last week, we had a client call in to book an appointment for eyelash extensions for the same day. She confirmed she’d had lash extensions before, but not in our salon, so we had to give her the bad news that we wouldn’t be able to do them so quickly and she’d need to come in for a glue test.
Before we do eyelash or brow treatment that includes certain types of elements, namely glue or dye, we always insist on doing a small test, which involves applying a small amount of the product on a hidden part of the skin and leaving it for 24 hours to see if there is a reaction. (We also test regularly if a client hasn’t been in for a while.)
A small number of people have adverse results such as swelling and discolouring but most people are fine. But, it’s your eyes… why take any chances? The eyes are such a delicate part of the body and the last thing we can allow is someone to have a bad reaction with lots of product in those areas.
So, if you are planning an eyelash or brow tint, or perhaps some eyelash extensions for a special event, please make sure you allow for the extra day to come in and have your tint test – even if you have had it done in another salon before as they may use different products.
When you book, we’ll let you know so you can plan it in. Then, your eyes will shine for all the right reasons. x
