Cold Weather Nailcare
Advice from Truly Scrumptious Beauty on how to care for your hands, nails and cuticles during winter months and cold weather.
The cold weather months of winter can play havoc with your nails, which can be very frustrating if you have spent the whole of last year caring for your cuticles with a great nail care regime.
Cold weather can dehydrate your nails and cuticles, as well as your hands, which in turn can make your nails more prone to breaking or discolouration.
So, if your hands, cuticles or nails are feeling a bit dry, it might be time to give them some winter warming love.
The best nail care advice for when you are out in the cold weather is to cover up your hands and reduce the exposure of the nail and cuticle to the cold.
Also, always make sure you dry your hands when they have been washed or are wet as this can also sap the hand of moisture.
If you use nailcare products, or are looking for a product regime to care for your pinkies, here are some ideas from our beauty therapists using nail care products from our Jessica Cosmetics range…
Phenomen Oil is great for your nails during winter because of the benefit of rehydration it gives to the cuticle when used regularly. It contains Vitamin E, Jojoba, Sweet Almond Oil and Rice Oil which heals and nourishes dry cuticles and promotes strong nail growth.
Before going to bed each night, simply apply one drop of Phenomen Oil per cuticle and massage it into the whole cuticle with the thumb and finger of your other hand.
You can also apply Hand & Body Moisturising Emulsion over the top before you go to bed.
With Pro-vitamin B5 and Keratin, the Hand & Body Moisturising Emulsion is an extra rich moisturising formula that conditions skin and adds softness.
Before no time, you will restore moisture to your hands, nails and cuticles!
